Royal Life Saving Society Australia statistics showed that half of the children under the age of five that drown, do so in their backyard swimming pools or spas. In fact, on average one child dies each week in Australia as a result of preventable drowning.

The Pool Protector is an electronic monitoring system that automatically sounds an alarm when a child or pet falls into your unsupervised swimming pool. Pool Protector is a portable, self contained, light weight unit that is safe and simple to operate. Entry into the pool will be detected by the units state of the art electronic subsurface wave detection sensor, triggering a loud pulsating alarm.

When you want to use the pool, just set the system into the sleep mode. In sleep mode, thanks to the automatic rearming feature, if the alarm detects the pool hasn’t been used for 100 seconds (if there are no waves), THE SYSTEM WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY REACTIVATED. When you have finished swimming there are no waves in the pool. Only when the pool surface has remained flat for 100 seconds, the system reactivates giving plenty of warning that the system is about to reactivate. If you feel like just sitting back and relaxing quietly in your pool (if you are not making waves), simply set the system into sleep mode and you can temporarily remove the pool unit out of your pool to avoid unwanted automatic reactivation. If someone who does not know how to put the pool alarm in sleep mode attempts to remove the alarm, it will sound an alarm.

The swimming pool protector alarm is designed to detect intrusions similar to a one year old child weighing 18 pounds and up and once installed in the pool, cannot be de-activated; it is always in the alarm ready mode.

• Automatic Wake-up: The swimming pool protector alarm will automatically wake up and run a system test when installed into the pool.
• Tamper Proof: Pool Protector swimming pool alarm will sound an alarm when removed from the pool by unauthorized persons.
• Sleep mode: When you would like to use your pool, simply put the alarm into sleep mode using the magnetic key.

The 2007 Australian National Drowning Report showed that 277 people drowned in Australian waterways in the year ending 30 June 2007. Overall there was an increase of 12 drowning deaths on the 2006 figure of 265 and an increase of 13 on the 5 year average, a jump of 5%. The main activities people were undertaking immediately prior to drowning were swimming/leisure activity (80 deaths), followed by falling into the water (56 deaths).
